Colonial Van Lines - At A Glance
With more than 50 years of moving experience, Colonial Van Lines is one of the most recognizable and trusted names in the long-distance moving industry. Unlike pure brokerages that outsource moves entirely to third parties, Colonial operates as a direct carrier with its own branded fleet, company-trained drivers, and nationwide logistics infrastructure.
Headquartered in Pompano Beach, Florida, Colonial Van Lines handles tens of thousands of residential and corporate relocations each year. Their emphasis on modern technology, direct accountability, and personalized service makes them a premier choice for cross-country moves.
High-Tech Virtual Moving Surveys
One of Colonial Van Lines' biggest innovations is its proprietary mobile application, available for iOS and Android. Instead of waiting for an in-home estimator or guessing inventory over the phone:
- Virtual Walkthrough App: Customers simply open the app, walk through each room with their smartphone camera, and record their furniture, closets, and appliances.
- AI-Assisted Itemization: The app catalogues items, calculates total volume and estimated weight, and transmits the data directly to Colonial's pricing team.
- Accurate Binding Estimates: Because the visual survey is thorough, moving estimates are exceptionally precise, virtually eliminating moving-day price discrepancies.
Core Services & Specialized Options
Colonial Van Lines offers comprehensive moving packages that cater to families, corporate executives, and seniors alike:
- Direct Carrier Long-Distance Moving: Coordinated routes across 48 contiguous states with professional driver teams.
- Full or Partial Packing Services: Choose between complete turnkey packing or selective packing for fragile dishware and valuable electronics.
- Heavy & High-Value Crating: Custom timber packaging for pianos, pool table slates, fine artwork, and marble sculptures.
